Gerard Clare and Suzanne 17th February 2010

Ellen was a wonderful friend to me over the forty two years I've known her. Her understanding and thoughtfulness can never be replaced, along with all the other qualities that made her a special person. I have happy memories of our art student days, sitting in the freezing cold rooms at Bridgeman Place in mid-winter, listening to the Beatles 'Seargent Pepper' album, transforming the texture of tables and chairs and painting life models whilst they weaved their way in and out of wood suspended from the ceiling. Our dreams then were, that one day we'd be as famous as Picasso. Well, we both decided to become teachers, which was an excellent career choice for Ellen. She was a wonderful teacher and excellent role model. I will miss you Ellen, God Bless X
