Ellen Hodson Hope Tribute Fund

The site is in Memory of Ellen Hodson and Elizabeth Taylor her mum. Every pound raised for the Hope Tribute Fund goes directly to The Christie. Cheques made out to The Christie can be sent to the hope fund with a note indicating that the donation was made in Memory of Ellen Hodson. Ellen Hodson was born on January 8th, 1950 and died on 8th January 2010 exactly 12 months after the first signs of her having a brain tumour started. No intention of becoming a pensioner. Ellen lived the past 12 months to the full with trips to France and Sardigne. Regular visits to restaurants and meals with great friends, was a major feature of the year. She is an example to us all. Ellen is much loved and will always be remembered by all her friends and family as a person who always put others before herself. Ellen received first class treatment throughout her illness and we thank all at the Christie and Hope Hospital for the care that she received. During the last weeks of her life she received exceptional care from her GP and the District Nurse team in Walkden. So many comments referred to Ellen's smile - a rose called Ellen's Smile has been named after her by her colleagues. That smile has touched so many. Elizabeth Taylor died on 3rd March 2011 aged 90, 48 years after her husband Tom died. and 1 year after her daughter Ellen. A great Lady A special Lady A person with tremendous faith. She will be remembered by all the family We thank all who cared for her at Royal Bolton, Salford Royal and especially Nazareth House where she spent her final week.
